What we’re about

It can be difficult to make new friends, especially in adulthood, and for many it's not easy to have a deep friendship while avoiding a deep topic.

You're not alone! Let's get together in the Triangle area for an evolving variety of activities centered around good vegan meals, coffee, drinks, and conversation.

Usually there will be one event per week, on the weekend, posted on the previous weekend.

Q&A:

What is veganism❓ Veganism involves avoiding the exploitation of animals for food, clothing, etc. Therefore in addition to animal products we also avoid most animal byproducts like eggs and dairy. The point is ethical, for the sake of the animals, not for our own medical, health, or culinary reasons, although those are lovely bonuses.

What's the difference between vegans and vegetarians❓ Vegetarians have friends.

Is there any science backing up veganism❓ Yes, numerous scientific studies in recent years have been able to confirm that animals aren't overly keen on suffering and dying for our pleasure and convenience.

Are vegans woke❓ Yes, we're hot organic non-GMO snowflake lattes on the gluten-free rocks with extra snowflake. Okay, technically it has nothing to do with any of that, but it's a good bet to expect an intelligent LGBTQ-friendly and BIPOC-friendly group interested more in empathy than in traditional values.

Is veganism a cult❓ Yes. Renounce your false gods and join us. 🤣
