The OG Night Race (AKA The Singapore Grand Prix)
Details
Max has won two races on the bounce now and Yuki finally scored points in the second car. And that has the pundits asking a lot of questions. Like: Is the Championship back on? Has Red Bull figured out their car? Is McLaren's dominance over? Is Piastri washed up? Can Lando turn this to his advantage? Will there be any passing on circuit this weekend?
Of course, the answer to all these questions is a resounding, "No."
The good news is that Singapore is actually pretty. It's a feast for the eyes and ears even if the on-track action is a series of DRS trains determined in qualifying.
Notable performances-
-Max Dominated the race. again. Qualifying was jumbled up by a last minute rain shower, but the Dutchman put his head down and put in a great lap at the right time. And, when the race started, he never looked back.
-Carlos Sainz finally put a whole weekend together. He's been struggling all year at Williams and, even though he's showed flashes of his abilities, the whole weekend has eluded him until now.
-Liam Lawson lived up to the hype. For the first time this year, Lawson actually put it together and kept it together for the whole race.
Notable misses-
-Piastri just looked off all week and, uncharacteristically screwed-up qualifying, then blew the start, then bottled it into the wall on the first lap. definitely a weekend to forget for the Aussie.
-Norris had his championship rival covered by a mile and not only failed to maximize his advantage, he basically just gave Piastri a free pass.
The race starts at 8 am this week. We'll be back at the Goat. Hope to see you there!
