Spa was simultaneously better and worse than expected. Better in that there was drama throughout the race and a realistic outside shot that someone other than Antonelli would win. Worse in that non-traction limited cars just aren't as fun to watch around this track.

Hadjar continues to impress. He's showing good speed relative to Verstappen as well as a willingness to throw his talents fully into supporting the team dynamics when asked. He drove from the back to 6th, finishing only 11 seconds behind Max. If the team hadn't gambled on the hard tires lasting the whole race, he had a shot at the podium. He's on track to be the first Red Bull Junior driver to spend more than one full season in the top team. At this point it would take a pretty colossal screw-up or an act of the racing gods to displace him at the end of the season.

Antonelli extended his championship lead in dominant fashion. Even if Lewis hadn't punted George out of the race on the first lap, the Brit was never a threat to the young Italian this weekend. And, since I'm well-known as an impartial observer of the sport, let me say: "The only thing that would have made it better is if Hamilton had taken himself out too."

As we head toward the summer break, Aston Martin is bringing a new spec car which they think will improve their times by two seconds a lap. That'll put them only one second behind Cadillac at this point. So...

Something to keep in mind- Silverstone and Spa were expected to be among Ferrari's weakest tracks this year. I'm not saying the championship is back on, but I'm not, not saying the championship is back on either.
