TFF / TU CLEARWATER LAKE FISHOUT 2013
Saturday, March 30 is the designated fish-out day for Triangle Fly Fishers at Clearwater Lake. This is one of the first Fishouts of the season. Come on out and have a fun day of fishing. Sunday, April 14 will be our secondary date(if there are sufficient trout left in the lake to warrant a second fishout).
Gates will open at 9:00 AM and close at 5:00 PM.
Admission is $20 per person. Children (immediate family only) 12 and under are $5 as TFF is subsidizing the fee. Please note that everyone age 13 and older is required to pay the $20 admission fee. Proceeds go to improve the facilities at the Chapel Hill-Carrboro YMCA Camp Clearwater. No reservation required.
For the price of admission, you get to keep up to eight trout. Bass and sunfish are catch and release. Fly fishing requirements will be set aside. In other words, you can use conventional tackle ... including real worms, crickets, salmon eggs, dough balls, power bait, spinners, etc. Don't forget to debarb all hooks. No minnows. Bring a cooler and some ice to take your fish home in. There are no facilities on site to clean your fish.
This is a family friendly event. Bring your children and grandchildren - they will have a blast. What fun it is to hear a youngster squeal with delight when they hang a fish.. . especially a large fish.
For safety reasons, fly rods will not be allowed on the large/main dock during the Fishout. We are reserving this dock primarily for children. You may fly fish on any of the other docks or from the bank.
TFF will provide a FREE Lunch - - soft drinks, water, hot dogs, and chips. No alcoholic beverages are allowed on the premises. Also, the premises are smoke free.
