  • Wear warm clothes you don’t mind getting dirty
  • Rubber boots or sturdy shoes
  • Work gloves, shovels, and garden shears, if available
  • Water and snacks

This volunteer event, co-sponsored by the New River Conservancy, the NC Wildlife Federation’s High Country Wild Chapter, Trout Unlimited, NC Works, and the Town of Boone’s Sustainability Department will focus on planting native trees along Hardin Creek with the goal of reducing erosion and enhancing habitat for local wildlife. A few days before the event, Joe Johnson with New River Conservancy will reach out with additional details.
