Whether you're brand new to fly fishing or looking to build confidence with fundamentals, this meetup is for you. We'll cover the core skills every angler needs to get started and enjoy time on the water.
*Basic casting techniques
*Essential knots
*Rig setup and leader basics
*How to choose flies
*Gear basics (safety!!)
This will be a relaxed, hands-on event with plenty of time for questions and practice. We'll cycle thru each topic, enjoy lunch together in the grass and have plenty of time to fish!
FOOD:
(Potluck-ish!) Please bring something to eat and something to share with the group
What to bring:
*Chair
*sunscreen
*bug spray (I'll have plenty)
*refillable water bottle (think conservation!)
*HAT
*SUNGLASSES (polarized of you have them)
*gear for wet wading (water shoes, old sneakers, wading boots. quick dry pants, skort, shorts)
*fly fishing gear! (rod, reel, nippers or nail clippers, hemostats, flies etc)
**IF FISHING- MUST HAVE FISHING LICENSE
**WE WILL NOT BE PROVIDING GEAR. **
