NC Trout Unlimited Chapter and Council Leaders,

Thank You For All You've Done!
Thank you for all the help coordinating events and tree plantings and giveaways as we work together to restore our rivers and communities after the devastation of Hurricane Helene.

With your support, Trout Unlimited in partnership with Arbor Day Foundation, Truist Charitable Fund, Atrium Health and Tractor Supply Company, has planted or given away plant more 10,000 trees this year. Added to our 2025 total, this brings us to over 15,000 trees that have been planted or distributed in the areas impacted by the storm!
These plantings have brought together more than 700 volunteers, given trees away to over 1,150 community residents and gone a long way towards helping the rivers recover by reestablishing riparian buffers to reduce erosion, filter stormwater, lower stream temperature and supporting long-term watershed health.
We Need Your Help
While the big push for this year's planting activity is over, we still need your help with one more event, and to get ready for this fall and next year.
If you are free, please join us on Monday, May 18 at 10 a.m. as we work alongside employees from Atrium Health to plant trees along Roses Creek just upstream of the Armstrong Creek Fish Hatchery in Marion. Details and registration here: https://tu.myeventscenter.com/event/Roses-Creek-Tree-Planting-With-Advocate-Health-124824
You can also help us identify future planting sites throughout the region. Many of you have either reached out or asked in person, "When are you coming back? How else can I help?" We will definitely be continuing our work across TN, NC, and GA these next few years, and you can help us out: If you have a property, park, or project location that you know we could get permission to plant on or hold a planting event or tree giveaway, whether it was impacted by Hurricane Helen or not, please fill out this survey: [arcg.is/iD5ab](https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/7f1bfe5fbe62483e8b0d7639f8cf0cc7 "https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/7f1bfe5fbe62483e8b0d7639f8cf0cc7")

Thank you once again, we can't wait to continue the hard work.
