Happy 2019 to you all. Your Triangle Red Sox Nation kicks off the 2019 season with an early event in Durham. For the 3rd year in a row, your Boston Red Sox supports North Carolina Central University's baseball program. Lead by Red Sox special advisor Frank Jordan, the Red Sox will send a presence to Durham once again. 2019 will see Red Sox Historian and former Boston Globe columnist Gordon Edes in Durham. The key note speaker for the event will be North Carolina native and MLB Umpire "Cowboy" Joe West. You'll be asked to leave your middle fingers as they are, not extended. Joe West is the only umpire to be ranked one of the best and at the same time one of the worst by MLB players in 2006.
This will be Gordon Ede's second visit to the triangle. Gordon game to an exclusive event at the Backyard Bistro for our group. He was fantastic. I learned more about the Red Sox Organization for Gordon than I could ever imagine. You arn't going to want to miss this event.
The cost should be around $50 a person and includes dinner. I'll get you a price as we get closer. I've committed our group to rent 4 tables. Coming out to this event will support a local collegiate baseball team who is quickly rising through the ranks and continue to let the Red Sox know about our fan club here in the Triangle.
