Kat McLeod hails from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. She is a skeptical activist and consumer advocate who is passionate about dispelling misinformation especially regarding herbal remedies. Kat works at the University of Alberta, however, she also volunteers there as a mentor for medical students. Coping with the consequences of taking herbal supplements has given her a unique perspective that she shares with the next generation of healthcare professionals, arming them with the knowledge that can hopefully prevent the kind of suffering she has endured. She is a member of the GSoW (Guerilla Skepticism on Wikipedia), has written articles for Skeptical Inquirer, and is a regular reporter on The Skeptic Zone podcast.
