Yin Yoga is a Taoist form of yoga that focuses on stretching the connective tissue of the body to promote better range of motion while also stimulating the flow of energy through the meridians; similar to Acupuncture. Yin poses are mostly floor poses that work to stretch the lower body. Poses are held for several minutes to give the connective tissue the needed time to stretch and release. Mindfulness meditation techniques and focused breathing are incorporated into the class.

Wear stretchy clothes you can move easily in but nothing you'll be too cool in. The room can be a bit chilly. Class is free for YMCA members. Non-members should contact me to make arrangements to attend. Mats and some props are available. Feel free to bring your own blanket for shavasana.
