Homebridge: Expanding the reach of Apple's Homekit using Node.js

Apple has been building steam lately with HomeKit - their home automation initiative. But, what if you already have devices that aren't HomeKit compatible? That's where Homebridge comes in. Billed as "HomeKit for the impatient", Homebridge is an open source project that runs on node.js and allows anyone to build plugins to make otherwise incompatible devices work with Apple's HomeKit.
