About the speakers:

With over 35 years of experience, Tom has developed a wealth of knowledge and experience in protecting critical infrastructure and cyber assets. He currently holds certifications in information security, information auditing, security leadership, critical infrastructure protection, and project management – he is also recognized a FEMA Continuity of Operations Planning (COOP) Practitioner. Tom is a member of the FBI’s InfraGard program and serves as an advisory board member for the Dutch Fork High School Cyber program. He has actively participated as a member of the MS-ISAC’s Executive Committee as well as the USC School of Law Cybersecurity Task Force. Tom currently serves the academic community through board service to the Industry Advisory Board for the USC Integrated IT program, Aiken Technical College and Florence-Darlington Technical College.

Jacob (Jake) Dustan is a cybersecurity and resilience professional, graduate of the Moore School of Business, and focuses on innovation and security in the defense sector. He started his professional career with BB&T's Early Career Program and later architected the bank's Cyber Resilience Testing and Simulation Services programs through the Truist merger. Jake then moved to EY, where he provided cyber incident management and resilience consulting services. He served as Global Business Operations Lead for the firm's then-nascent Cyber Incident Resilience & Response (CIRR) program and later Chief of Staff and Sector Resident for the Americas Commercial Aerospace & Defense subsector. Jake currently splits time between the Lowcountry and High North while pursuing a masters degree in Arctic Security through the University of Alaska. He is passionate about creating novel solutions to challenging problems, protecting others, and contributing to national security.
