Durham Discussion of "Understanding Comics"

Details
This will be the Durham session at the Duke Fuqua School of Business on Wednesday, March 20th.
We will be gathering to discuss "Understanding Comics" by Scott McCloud. The book club was inspired to read this by our very own Rachel Nabors, who wrote a great post for UX Booth that you should also check out: http://www.uxbooth.co... (http://www.uxbooth.com/articles/comics-and-ux-part-1-cross-disciplinary-techniques/).
You can find the book at Amazon for a reasonable price: http://ow.ly/1QUkiw... (http://ow.ly/1QUkiw)
From Amazon: "A comic book about comic books. McCloud, in an incredibly accessible style, explains the details of how comics work: how they're composed, read and understood. More than just a book about comics, this gets to the heart of how we deal with visual languages in general. 'The potential of comics is limitless and exciting!' writes McCloud. This should be required reading for every school teacher. Pulitzer Prize-winner Art Spiegelman says, 'The most intelligent comics I've seen in a long time.'"
Parking is free on Duke's campus after 5pm. The closest lot is across Science Drive and slightly south of the Science Drive entrance. The elevator is right inside the entrance to the left. You'll need to be escorted up because the floor locks after 5. If no-one is waiting for you or you arrive a little late, phone numbers will be posted for you to call/text and we'll come get you.
