The ABCs of IAC

We seem to have started too far into the deep end with Bicep and Terraform right off the bat. I want to start over with some important topics.

This time we take it down several notches, and start getting down to some basics. Sysadmins everywhere want to get into Infrastructure as Code (IaC), but might think that ship has sailed. It has not!

Join me for a very basic introduction to IaC. What is it? Why should you use it? Why should you not use it? Advantages and drawbacks. Concepts and basic tooling. I will get into my daily workflow, my journey from ClickOps sysadmin to a more DevOps-approach.

This session kicks off a series of IaC sessions over a wide range of topics, which hopefully also will include some hands-on workshops.

It should be suitable for those that want to get into IaC, but just haven’t gotten around to it. Requires no previous coding experience. You don’t need a favorite code editor.

This will be great for people wanting to start with IaC!
