Learning to Rank | AI Village learning session #3
Details
Muhammad Ali Norozi (Senior Data Scientist, EVRY) will provide an overview of the area LEarning TO Rank (LETOR). Ranking or Relevancy is at the core of information retrieval. It has to do with the degree of relevance of information to a users' query, information being the available documents, which can be images, articles, videos, audio files, everything :) Ranking is to sort them all according to their degree of relevance to users' posed query or search, the first item being the most relevant.
What has LETOR to do with Machine Learning? Why Learning and Ranking? What has ranking to do with learning and what has Learning “provided” for ranking problem? State of the art and some of the categorization in academia about learning to rank and some examples and motivations from real world.
Intended audience: Data scientists and software developers. This meetup is part of a series of AI village learning sessions that will be arranged every last thursday of the month (except holidays). You can buy something to eat and drink at Pirkanten Spiseri after the presentation. Welcome!
