Monday Dungeons & Dragons (In person at the Troy, NY Public Library)

This event is a pick-up game for players of all skill and experience levels. New players and veteran players are equally welcome. We play Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition. Each session has a maximum of 6 players, and you must RSVP here on Meetup in order to play.

The adventures often wrap up in one play session and are different every week. In past meetups, the characters have visited a tropical island to retrieve an idol from friendly natives, solved a murder mystery involving the prince of the land, shut down a time-traveling money counterfeiting process, and ran their own restaurant for an evening, all with disastrous and invariably hilarious results.

FAQs
How do I make my own character?
Unfortunately, you can't. We have a list of premade characters to select from once the game session starts.

What level are the characters?
They are persistently 7th level and do not level up. This is so that the characters are powerful and fun to play, but not so complicated as to be intimidating for new players.

What is the game setting like?
Most adventures occur within a country called The Homeland, which is the base of operations for the organization that all the players' characters belong to. Outside of the Homeland, the world has been intentionally left vague so that many tropes of the fantasy genre can fit within it.

How does my character know the other characters?
We "lampshade" this by saying that all the characters have known each other for many years already.
