John O’Keefe, a Boston police officer, died in 2022 after being found in the snow outside a colleague’s home. His girlfriend, Karen Read, was accused of hitting him with her car and leaving him to die, but the defence claimed he was injured inside the house and framed. The case was highly contested, and Read was later acquitted of the main charges.
