VHF/UHF Radio Basics

This is a FREE class that will provide those new to radios the key concepts necessary to get the most out of radio communications. We will focus on the UHF/VHF type of radios popular today such as the Baofeng, Yaesu and others.

An overview of the radio spectrum will be introduced and progress to the available radio services (FRS, GMRS) that can be used and what licenses are required, if any, to use them.

Next, we focus on the basic features of the radio themselves including the ability to program defined channels. Where to get these channels and how to get them into the radios will be discussed.
