Programming your Baofeng Radio

Take control of your handheld radio by learning how to properly configure and program it for the channels and repeaters you actually use. This hands-on workshop will include practical demonstrations using Baofeng UV-5R-style radios so attendees can see how a complete radio configuration is created, programmed, and verified. This workshop is designed for beginners and anyone who wants a better understanding of how to configure and manage their handheld radio. No previous radio programming experience is required.

• Frequency Mode vs. Channel Mode: Understand the difference between operating directly by frequency and using programmed memory channels.
• Understanding a Programmed Channel: Learn the information that makes up a channel, including receive and transmit frequencies, power levels, tones, and other common settings.
• Programming from the Radio Keypad: Learn how channels and frequencies can be entered and saved directly from the radio without a computer.
• Programming Repeaters: Understand repeater frequencies, offsets, access tones, and the settings required to communicate through a repeater.
