He has been a member of our group for years now. His expertise is in mass trauma , post incident grief counseling for police and firefighters as well as emergency response planning for state and federal government agencies.
This meetup will focus on the following:

What separates the resilient minds from those that fold in the face of adversity

What techniques can you use TODAY to stay grounded yet stay prepared to deal with emergencies

How have people retained their humanity in spite of horrific events in the past ( case studies)

How will MOST OTHERS REACT and how you should plan for them

The roles of deadly force vs charity towards others / hiding your stash vs community prep
-
How to deal with depression and grief , both yours and the counseling of others
This will be an engaging and informative meetup as always.
It is a topic not commonly thought of but is most imortant.
As Dr. Crawford once said " Canned beans and ammo won't do much good in the face of overwhelming grief and despair"

Robert Crawford is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Nationally Board Certified Counselor. He is also a Diplomate and Board Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress with the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress. Robert holds a Doctorate of Education from Temple University. He earned his Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania and graduated college from LaSalle University.
Dr. Crawford has served with the New Jersey Division of Mental Health-Disasterhttp://img1.meetupstatic.com/img/clear.gif and Terrorism Branch where he was part of the State’s First Responder Team for Crisis Response to terrorism and natural disasters as well as training and preparing professionals, state and federal agencies in disaster preparedness. Dr. Crawford has served as a consultant for the CDC and worked with FBI, State Police, and military on disaster preparedness and mental health response.
Dr. Crawford is an adjunct faculty member at Rowan University. Dr. Crawford regularly lectures on the relational impact of sexual behavioral problems and pornography, marriage renewal and reparation, and impact of trauma on spiritual and emotional growth.
