Table Tipping Workshop with Dr. Louis Gates
Details
One of the main methods of paranormal investigation during Victorian times was to seek out people who claimed to be in contact with the spirits. A common method that was generally employed was to get around a table and see if the table would begin to move on its own accord. There was a huge "table tipping" craze in America and Europe during the 1850s. Many strange and unusual things were purported to occur during some of these investigations. "Raps" and unusual table movements as if animated were sometimes observed.
In Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp, this tradition is still practiced. I have been to four of Dr. Louis Gates' table tipping workshops and have observed the table that is used exhibit unusual behavior that Dr. Gates claims is caused by spirit power.
His advertising states: "Table Tipping is a form of physical mediumship; a way for everyone to experience a direct connection and communication with those in the world of spirit."
The cost of the workshop is 26 dollars per person and there is limit of 40 people.
