Remember when shopping meant walking into real stores, and actually touching something before buying it?

Well, let's go old school by perusing the shops along Bank Street in the Glebe.

We'll flip through vinyl records, browse paper books, rummage through vintage clothing, and see what rare valuables we can unearth. We can pretend we're archaeologists!

The Plan:
We'll wander along Bank Street, visiting a record store, an independent bookstore, and a vintage clothing shop. We'll keep things flexible, perhaps letting the group vote on which shops catch our interest.

Afterward, we'll retire to a neighbourhood pub, possibly Irene's, for drinks and conversation.

Cost:
Free! Purchases are entirely optional, including at the pub.

Weather:
Mostly indoors, with short walks between shops. We'll go ahead in typical Ottawa November weather, provided conditions are safe.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Are these stores still accessible by trolley car?
A: Sadly, Ottawa discontinued streetcar service in 1959. You'll have to find another way.

Q: Do I have to buy anything?
A: Absolutely not. Browsing is a time-honoured tradition, but be prepared to fall in love with something and buy it.

Q: What if someone in a store starts talking to me?
A: Don't panic. They probably work there.

Q: Can I use my credit card?
A: Yes, but for maximum immersion in the experience, bring cash! 😁Bonus points if you use exact change.

Q: What happens if it snows?
A: Our grandparents walked five miles through blizzards. Odds are fair to good we'll survive walking half a block to the next store.

Q: Is the pub mandatory?
A: Of course not. But after an exhausting afternoon of shopping like it's 1959, some of us may need to wet our whistle.

Q: Should I click Attend?
A: Yes.
