Welcome to the Try Out Comedy DMV Meetup Group, hosted by Frankly Funny Comedy! We host open mic nights and comedy shows tailored especially to newcomers in the Washington DC/Maryland/Virginia (DMV) Area.
If you’ve never been to a comedy show or are new to the DMV area, our events are the perfect place to laugh, relax, and make some new friends. After all, there’s no better way to get to know the city than by laughing about it—sharing jokes you can relate to or ones that spark a great conversation!
🎤 For the comedy newbies: Not sure what to expect? No worries! We’ll make sure you feel welcome, whether you’re coming solo or with a group.

Happening Monday night at Eckington Hall, it’s the perfect way to start your week off right.

Coming solo? 🙋♂️ Amazing! We’ve got a sign by the door so you know you’re in the right spot. You can wait at the Meetup area for other attendees or just find a seat and enjoy the laughs.
Feel free to introduce yourself and make new friends! This is a very welcoming 🎭 community, and lots of new people attend our shows for the first time. We also have a great group of regulars who are always excited to see new faces! 😀
