Indie film fan Glen Haley is revisiting the best of independent films from various decades during Cary Theater’s Indies by the Decade. Haley will lead a pre-film discussion sharing insights and personal reflections on each film.
Tonight’s film is from the Academy Award®-winning Coen Brothers—“The Big Lebowski”—a quirky comedy-thriller about bowling, avant-garde art, nihilistic Austrians, and a guy named … The Dude. Starring Jeff Bridges, Julianne Moore, John Goodman, John Turturro and Steve Buscemi, “The Big Lebowski” has become a cultural phenomenon.
A side note: my son, who is a stand-up comedian and a fan of anything Coen, says this is a must watch.
The show starts at 7:30. I’ll get there around 7 to grab a cup of coffee. Look for me in the lobby/coffee shop area wearing a colorful peachy floral shirt.
