Meetup Site Bad Redesign - How you can help.

Hi everyone

You have probably noticed that meetup did a massive, unannounced site redesign that well....stinks. The response from the meetup community has been overwhelmingly negative.

Besides making it tremendously harder to use, it is chuck FULL of bugs and has now had security issues that is exposing what was supposed to be private information (such as personal addresses).

As an organizer of multiple meetups, I can tell you that managing meetups is even more painful.

How you can help:

The more voices meetup.com hears about how displeased people are with the redesign, the more pressure they have to fix it. The dues you pay that allows the group to stay on meetup went to pay for the redesign, so you should have a voice on how your money is spent by meetup.com. Here are multiple ways you can voice your opinion about the change:

  • Email meetup support at support@meetup.com and ask them to go back to the old design. It was flawed, but at least we figured out how to make it work.

  • Post a complaint on the message board here: http://www.meetup.com...
(There are boocoodles of people who have already done so. Make your voice heard).

  • Post a complaint on their facebook page: http://www.facebook.c...

  • And my personal favorite idea, go to this facebook and like the page that is asking Facebook to create a meetup equivalent (at least it would be free!): http://www.facebook.c...

With our group being almost 900 members strong, you can have an impact. Share this info with your other meetup friends/groups.

Thanks!
