Saturday February 22nd 1pm - 3pm Guest Speaker Meeting

Details
We are holding a Guest Speaker Meeting on Saturday Feb 22, 2025 from 1pm to 3pm at Tucson's Ward 6 Council Offices at 3202 E 1st Street.
The Guest Speaker will be Rainbow Lopez.
Rainbow Lopez was born and partially raised on the Tohono O’odham Nation (Desert People) in the Sonoran Desert of Southwest Arizona. She grew up in several different cultures, spending summers with her Native American grandparents, and living abroad in France, where she became fluent in the language and culture, particularly their gastronomy. Both experiences established a base of knowledge that is both traditional and contemporary. In her travels, she continued learning about food nutrition and health, from the different cultures she encountered.
Rainbow’s travels influenced her to explore her Tohono O’odham culture regarding food harvesting, storytelling, and ceremonies. Ceremonies have shaped Rainbow’s life in many ways. She has been a member of the Native American Church (NAC) for 18 years. She has also served as Secretary for eight years for her NAC Chapter in southern Arizona. She has recently been voted in to serve as Treasurer for the next four years.
Her knowledge and experiences have led her to be able to share some storytelling of the Native American Church.
ALL ARE WELCOME! Donations will be accepted but are not required. Please bring a friend or make some new friends at the meeting. We will see you there.
