You are officially invited to the legendary trek to the Sabino Canyon Dam—where the views are gorgeous, the water is refreshing, and everyone pretends the uphill walk is "not that bad."
To be honest though, this is a mini hike good for beginners. It's a little less than a mile each direction.
Dress code: Comfy shoes, and a willingness to complain just enough to make the adventure memorable.
*Bonus points if you don't ask, "Are we there yet?" every five minutes.
Parking at the Sabino Canyon Recreation Area is $8 per car.... unless you have the "America the Beautiful pass" then it's free. Of course we could always carpool from somewhere if you wanted to.
Flashlights are optional if you have them. I know we all have flashlights on our phones. It might get a little dark on the walk back depending how long we stay at the dam.
