Movies on a Theme for Cinephile Nerds - November is Horror

Movies on a Theme is where we discuss and compare movies that fall under a specific theme. I'll curate a list but feel free to discuss one that is not on the list. Since it's Friday the 13th, let's talk about horror! (esp as I missed scheduling an October movies on a theme). There have been so many good horror movies out lately, let's discuss what we're enjoying, do you think horror is getting better/more innovative? We can also compare new vs old versions (Resident Evil, for example). If you have favorite old school horror movies (George Romero, David Carpenter, etc.) what makes those hold up as classics vs the new movies?

Consider any of the following newer and old movies (and of course, anything not on the list - this is a pretty open category)
\ *Resident Evil
* Obsession
\ *Backrooms
* The Substance
\ *Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma
* The Thing (because it's one of my favorites of all time!)
\ *Night of the Living Dead etc.
* Send Help
\ *Buddy
* Clayface
\ *Evil Dead etc.
* Nope, Get Out, Us (Jordan Peele movies)
\ * Hokum
* Any classic slasher movie (Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, etc.)
\ * Stephen King movies
