Sabino Saunter for the Early Birds

Details
Length: 6.5 mi Loop
Accumulated Elevation gain: 1400'
- Rating: C/D - Intermediate/Beginner
**No dogs permitted in Sabino Canyon
This is an easy paced early bird alternative to the Sabino Stroll. Click here (https://mapsengine.google.com/map/u/0/edit?mid=zD06_uhZyXWo.kg1fsy_dke84) to see trail route.
Sabino Canyon is a fee area - $5.00 per car or Federal pass. These fees for recreational use will hopefully allow the Forest Service to continue to subsidize grazing leases and timber sales at their present generous levels. Click here (http://www.westernslopenofee.org/) for more fee info.
We will start at the Visitors Center Ramada and take the Phoneline trail to Bear Canyon Road.
We will proceed down the road to the Bear Canyon tram turn around and then backtrack along the Bear Canyon Trail to the Phoneline Trail.
We will then hike the Phoneline trail to the Traillink trail (AKA: Bail out trail) which will take us down to Sabino Canyon Road.
At the bottom of the Traillink trail we will wade or rock hop across Sabino Creek to the tram stop where there are restrooms.
We will then proceed on Rattlesnake Canyon Trail and take it back to the Visitors Center.
Post hike victuals and beverages will be at Risky Business. Click here for directions.
See you there!
