Beautiful West Fork 5 miles Total; Easy Intermediate; Tram to stop 9 at the top

It’s a different biome up there at the top of Sabino Canyon overlooking another Canyon, pretty and expansive in places.

the pink and white Hop bushes may be in ‘bloom’. (don’t know with this drought.)

We will stop at intervals to admire the views, take some pics, water breaks
It’s a treat to take the Tram up occasionally.

Where:
Sabino Canyon: 5700 N Sabino Canyon Rd –
Meet: Ticket booth at 8:40.
Arrive: 8:40 am to prepare to get in line to board at 8:45 for the 9:00 am Tram

TRAM HAS BEEN FULL BUY TICKETS AT LEAST THE MORNING BEFORE AT THE VERY LATEST

The Hike:
We get off the tram at Stop 9 at the very top turnaround.

From the Trailhead 23 to West Fork Wash is 2.5 miles

We will Rest and snack at the West Fork wash, then go back.

5 miles TOTAL out and back.

Pace Caveat: the first .4 miles are switchbacks
I will be going slowly on this incline.
The rest of it is gentle rolling up and down and is easy moderate.
Some wash crossings are rocky.
Relaxed pace.

Caveat: It’s a Ridge hike – only sign up if you have done Ridge hikes before and don’t get vertigo.

Because of the switchbacks and the and mileage, and some places are rocky... I rate this

Hike Style: group stays together for safety and socializing – it’s a meetup! Let’s meet up!
– if you are advanced hiker, you may sign up but agree to stay together rather than going ahead – Relaxed pace, in no hurry.

Please Bring Poles – much of the trail is ridge hike.
Good hiking shoes. Hat, sunscreen, 2 liters of water.
