Keep training!!!!

Another training hike is arranged to hike up Mt Wrightson via Old Baldy Trail on June 29th, 2025. It is approximately 10.6 miles out and back, with roughly 3969' accumulated gain. While it is a bit hotter out now, Old Baldy Trail #372 in Madera Canyon is the most heavily traveled and also remains the coolest trail leading up Mount Wrightson by keeping a more northerly aspect and staying in the trees for almost its entire length. Though the final mile/portion of the trail, Crest Trail #144, is exposed and has some loose rocks.

Gaia GPS: Mount Wrightson via Old Baldy Trail #372 (https://www.gaiagps.com/public/yEEHpYo5RXLFIEir3RFlg21l/)

From the parking lot (5,459'), we'll take the Old Baldy Trail #372 up to Josephine Saddle (7100'). From Josephine Saddle we'll take the Super Trail/Old Baldy Trail #134 up until it splits, where we'll proceed via Old Baldy Trail #372 up to Baldy Saddle (8,755'). From Baldy Saddle, we'll take Crest Trail #144 up to Mount Wrightson (9456'). We'll return the same way we came up. (Down Old Baldy Trail #372).

It is a fee parking lot. Please bring your parking pass (either the National Park pass or the Coronado Forest Pass would work). Also bring a sun hat, hiking poles, a lot of water, snacks and lunch.

Meet at Old Baldy Trailhead at 6:30am.
Or, if you want to join for carpooling or caravan, meet at 5:30am at farthest east side of Fry's parking lot (3640 S 16th Ave, Tucson, AZ 85713). It is at the northeast corner of I-19 Ajo exit.

Please let me know where you want to meet.
