Bored by Blackett's? Find the Phoneline feeble? If you're up for 18 miles and almost 3000 feet of elevation gain, maybe you're ready for the BASH.

Our hike begins by going up Bear Canyon to Seven Falls. We'll stop briefly then continue up the canyon to the saddle near Thimble Peak. Tentatively, this is our lunch spot. Next we continue to the Arizona Trail / East Fork Trail, and make our way over to the Sabino Canyon Trail. We'll descend to the Sabino tram stop 9, and then return via the tram road. For those who need it, you can purchase a one-way tram ticket and shorten the hike by about 4 miles. The price is $8, and assumes that space is available. See Sabino Canyon Crawler .

I want to stress that this is a challenging distance, but we are not trying to set speed records. The allocated 9.5 hours is a very conservative estimate; we'll probably be faster. Please only sign up if you are confident that you can hike 18 miles.

We'll meet at the ramada in front of the Sabino Canyon Visitor Center.

There will be nearly no water at Seven Falls. Less scenic, but the stream crossings should be simple.

This AllTrails route is similar to ours, except that it assumes return by Phoneline Trail rather than tram road.
