Sunset Hike in the Tucson Mountain Park - Kinney Rd - K11
Details
Join me for a peaceful hike through our beautiful Sonoran Desert during the golden hour of sunset! This is not a workout hike — it's a shorter, relaxed loop (just under 3 miles) with no elevation gain. Come unwind, breathe in the desert air, and watch the sunset paint the landscape in gold. Hope to see you there!
When: Arrive no later than 4:15 PM because we’ll start walking promptly at 4:25 allowing us to finish before dark.
Where: Kinney road, pullout K11 https://maps.app.goo.gl/irRYVgRqrxtbXMbs6
- If you’re coming over Gates Pass, turn left when you reach Kinney Road, 1 mile from that turn, you’ll see the K11 pullout on the right.
 - If you're coming from South Kinney road, once you enter the park (stone pillars at entrance) 1.5 miles from that point you'll see the K11 pullout on your left.

If parking is full, there’s another pullout (K12) directly across the road.
What to Bring:
- Sunglasses - the sun will be in our eyes for a portion of the hike.
 - Water - always!
 - A camera (optional, but you’ll probably want it!)
 - A flashlight (just in case we dilly dally taking photos)
