Join me for a peaceful hike through our beautiful Sonoran Desert during the golden hour of sunset! I have selected Tuesday for this hike because they are calling for some cloud coverage and typically that makes it even more spectacular. This is not a workout hike — it's a shorter, relaxed loop (just under 3 miles) with no elevation gain. Come unwind, breathe in the desert air, and watch the sunset paint the landscape in gold. Hope to see you there!

When: Arrive no later than 3:50 PM because we’ll start walking promptly at 4:00 allowing us to finish at dark.

Where: Hal Gras Rd https://maps.app.goo.gl/8wtcgDzXhzCCnKFr5

  • If you’re coming over Gates Pass, turn left when you reach Kinney Road, approx 1.5 mile from that turn, you’ll see Hal Gras Rd on the right.
  • If you're coming from South Kinney road, once you enter the park (stone pillars at entrance) approx 1 mile from that point you'll see Hal Gras on your left.

** drive to the end of Hal Gras Road and you will find my white Toyota Highlander parked at the Cul-De-Sac. caution The speed bumps on this road are radical so go slow. **

What to Bring:

  • Sunglasses - the sun will be in our eyes for a portion of the hike.
  • Water - always!
  • A camera (optional, but you’ll probably want it!)
  • A flashlight (just in case we dilly-dally taking photos)

Expectations:
· Miles = 2.67
· Pace = 2.5 mph
· Time = 1 hr to 1.5 hr depending on our slowest hiker
