SABINO CANYON MEDITATIVE HIKE -- LATE NOTICE -- FULL MOON MOMENTS
Details
Saturday evening, Jan. 3. Meet at 5:00 p.m. by the ramada in front of Sabino Canyon Visitors’ Center. No pets or kids please.
“Find Peace, for a moment.” Now, you too can discover that rarest of phenomena, Silence, at road’s end in Sabino, as you lie back, absorbed in darkness/brightness of the night. We ask that people be silent when they get to the top of the road so that all of us can enjoy being with nature in peace and quiet. Conversation is OK at every other point along the way, however, and people enjoy socializing during, as well as after the hike. We also attempt to be without external mind-numbing distractions of technology, in order to tune internally to the beauty of the Canyon Cathedral itself. No cell phones, pagers, flash cameras, etc., except for emergencies. Flashlight use on a spot basis, only when unavoidable, or if snakes pay an unexpected visit during our hike. 7.5 mi. Round Trip, all on road. Free visit from iCougar.
This hike is a Meditative Hike:
It is intended for those who want to enjoy a (meditative) experience at road's end. And please no picture or video taking at the end of the road, where we do the meditative interlude. It can be distracting to others, and violates the purpose of the hike, which is to be present without technology.
Hike at your own risk: By signing up for this event, you agree to assume personal responsibility for all risks associated with this event, and release the organizers, event hosts, and other members of the venue, from any liability.
