# Hike Ventana Canyon trail beyond Maiden Pools

# Details

Meet us 7:45 am to hike the scenic Ventana Canyon trail, while water is still flowing, to Maiden Pools and on further to a hidden pool. We will hike about 6 miles r/t with 1600 ft elevation gain and take a social/snack break midway.
The lower section of the trail is rocky and crosses the creek several times. We then ascend a series of rocky switchbacks leading up the canyon revealing great views including the Santa Rita Mountains south of Tucson. This is one of my favorite hikes.
Dress in layers. Partial shade. Forecast is 58-75+ degrees for the hike. Bring poles if you use them, plenty of water, electrolytes and a snack. Not a beginners hike due to elevation gain, and uneven terrain/boulders.

Park past the employee parking lot at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort, close to the trailhead.
