Let's find out!
Distance: 6 miles
Elevation Gain: 1100 feet
Total Time: plan on 3 to 4 hours
No dogs please.
Directions : From Tangerine, travel north on Dove Mountain Blvd and take a right at the traffic circle at the end of the road toward the Ritz Carlton. Let the Gatekeeper know you will be hiking. He will tell you where the trailhead parking is. Please give yourself plenty of time to get there. The drive up Dove Mountain Blvd is further than most people anticipate.

"The Town of Marana, Pima County and Cottonwood Properties have developed over 25 miles of hiking trails in the Tortolita Mountains. Parking for the Wild Burro Canyon trailhead is located at the Ritz-Carlton and is open to the public. This expanding network of trails offers a variety of hikes of different difficulties over changing terrain." More... (http://dovemountaincivicgroup.org/hiking.htm)
"More than 10 miles of Dove Mountain's boundary are against either formal preserves or Arizona State Trust owned mountains. The Tortolita Mountain Park borders Dove Mountain to the northeast offering 3,000 undisturbed acres for hiking, camping, horseback riding or the simple enjoyment of experiencing some of the most eye-pleasing vistas in the Southwest. The 2,400 acre Tortolita Preserve frames Dove Mountain to the south presenting still more natural high Sonoran Desert wonders for generation after generation to come." More...
