Tucson Mountain Park - Krein Mountain

Details
More exploration of Tucson Mountain Park! This time, Krein mountain. At least I think that's the name; the trail is (I believe) called John Krein trail although it's not on the park trail map. It runs from Yetman trail over to Starr Pass, read on for details.
Where: Richard E Genser Starr Pass trail head. To get there, take Starr Pass Blvd west from I19 (it's the continuation of 22nd St). Note the traffic light at Greasewood; 1.5 miles beyond this, turn left onto Clearwell -- there's a brown trail head sign there. Follow Clearwell to the end, and look for my red Subaru Forester. Park at the near end of the lot as we'll be walking down the gated side road just before the lot.
When: Monday, December 3rd, 7:45am
What: We'll hike along the gated road just north of the trailhead parking lot for half a mile to pick up the trail into the park. This connects to Yetman trail which we'll follow south then west to John Krein trail. That trail leads us south and back east up the mountain to its peak, with fabulous views in all directions! After a break at the top, we continue east as the trail drops down and meets up with Starr Pass trail which takes us north back to Yetman, completing the loop.
Total Distance: About 6.5 miles
Elevation gain: about 1000'
This is not a difficult hike, but we will be climbing a (small) mountain! More strenuous than my last hike on Golden Gate trail, it is steep and rocky in a few spots.
