As your host and leader Roger Nordby, I will cover the type of hike we'll be doing today. Although this hike falls within the Tucson Hiking MeetUp Group the Hike Rating Scale for a Beginner class hike, I am giving it a Beginner + Rating for the following Reason ...

1. Shallow stream crossings will require rock / boulder hopping or wading.
2. Some steep, rocky sections of the trail.
3. Knowing this it would be a good idea to bring trekking poles or a walking stick and wear foot gear with sturdy, lug soles.
4. This hike will give you a good perspective on the canyon from floor level to a 400' to 600' perch looking down on the canyon, what a nice view!
5. Please Bring: 2+ liters of water, food for a snack, sun protection
6. Hike at your own RISK
