Do all the things — all at once — with the Web Worker API! Concurrency is a new concept even for seasoned JavaScript programmers, but it’s only getting more important as devices gain more CPU cores. Warren Goble will show us how to take advantage of the entire processing power of your users’ devices to make nearly any application feel faster. Web Workers are also the foundational technology for the future of offline web apps, via the forthcoming Service Worker API, so you definitely don’t want to miss out on this talk.

Beer, non-alchoholic drinks, and some light snacks will be provided by us!

Getting to the meetup by car: Connect is right in downtown Tucson, so if you are not biking, taking the bus, streetcar, or dirigible you are probably coming by automobile. Downtown street parking in metered spots is free after 5pm, but may be limited. (Should you find a spot on the street, please be careful not to block the streetcar!) Your best bet may be the Depot Plaza Garage (45 N 5th Ave). Check out the city’s parking guide (http://tdot.tucsonaz.gov/parkwise/where-can-i-park-downtown) for more info.
