Off the Brook Bistro and Cocktails

We will be discovering this restaurant together!
I know the owner. Many of you will recognize her, too, from our several visits to her other very successful restaurant in Seaford, Il Bacetto. Angela always offered us delicious and usual Italian dishes there and I’m sure her breadth of culinary knowledge and experience will serve her - and us -well in this relatively new venture and slightly different cuisine (more American/Italian it seems to me).
The name of the restaurant struck me as unusual until I realized it was so named because it is just east of Meadowbrook Parkway (hence, Off the Brook) on Merrick Road. It is located in what was formally the Left Coast Kitchen restaurant, and parking is behind the restaurant as well as on Merrick Road. I will double check with the owner and update as to whether you can park in the lot of the dry cleaners next door before the event. Used to be allowed, though there was a huge, “no parking,” sign in the dry cleaner’s window, so I will check with Angela, and post the answer in the comments section.
The menu looks unusual and interesting (I’m thinking of going with the balsamic fig chicken), and is available at offthebrook.com.
