Let’s meet and discuss our April book Raising Hare: A Memoir while we enjoy a walk around the Tulsa Zoo.

Unfortunately (or for our furry friends fortunately) there are no hares or even rabbits at the zoo. The ethics of zoos are often debated; however their mission is to protect endangered species, educate the public, and aid in scientific research. The Tulsa Zoo is accredited through the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. To become accredited these organizations must meet “the highest standards in animal care and welfare” (https://www.aza.org/about-us).
