A minimum $40 donation (http://tulsaphotog.wix.com/photog#!wild-and-endangerd-in-oklahoma/xtuc5) will be required in advanced for this trip whether you attend both or just one of the shoots/per person. All funds collected will be split equally and donated to the "Friends of the Heritage Horse Foundation Herds" with the other half going to the"Endangered Ark Foundation" on behalf of PHOTOG, INC. (The Endangered Ark may require signing a PHOTO Release, depending on what that release states will determine if we are able to attend this facility. PENDING: release paperwork-donations to the Ark will be refunded if we are unable to attend. We will keep you updated!! )

Shoot1: Spirit of Blackjack Mountain

"They are surviving by a thin thread... perilously close to extinction.".

These horses made the Kiamichi Mountains, with Blackjack Mountain as the backbone, their home for over 170 years. Throughout the 19th and 20th centuries, a number of Choctaw and White families (among them the Brame, Carter, Crisp, Helms, LeFlore, Locke, Thurman and Trotter families) owned and preserved these equine treasures.

Seeing and experiencing these equine treasures can be a life-changing experience.

Shoot 2: The Endangered Ark Foundation:

Home to the Largest Endangered Elephant Herd in North America. he Endangered Ark Foundation is a private non-profit dedicated to ensuring the future of Asian elephants in North America, providing a retirement ranch for circus elephants, and educating the public about this endangered species.

Saturday agenda:

  1. Depart motel at 7:00 am and caravan to Salt Creek Pasture for a morning shoot of some Ponies

  2. Following this, we will proceed to the Mount Olivet Cemetery – the Showmen’s Rest

  1. 11:30 am – a private tour of the Endangered Ark Foundation, home to the second largest endangered Indian Elephant herd in the U.S.

(If this doesn’t materialize, we can travel to the Fossil River area for scenery photos and more Choctaw Ponies)

  1. Return to motel and dinner at Ables BBQ at 5:00 pm

  2. Following dinner, we will caravan to the BarD Ranch for evening an evening photo-shoot of another herd of ponies.

  3. One option after dark is some night/light painting at an abandoned house on the way back to Antlers.

Sunday morning agenda before heading to Tulsa for those who wish to venture out on their own.

  1. Photo-shooting of sites and building around Antlers and Hugo. PHOTOGers should be able to find interesting sites.

As you know, some of these plans are “fluid” and subject to changes. But we have a road map
