Hey everyone, I am going to post this one again since it was rained out this weekend. Hopefully we have better luck this time!

About this Social Meetup Event:
Let’s slow things down and explore Oxley Nature Center together.

This is a relaxed, curiosity-focused outing — not a long hike or fitness event. We’ll take our time walking through the marsh and boardwalk areas, check out the overlook tower, and make a short stop inside the visitor center.

I’ll be bringing binoculars to share for anyone interested in birdwatching or getting a closer look at wildlife along the way.

Expect an easy pace, conversation, and plenty of time to stop and look around.

Difficulty Level:

  • Beginner-friendly / Low effort

What to Expect:

  • Easy walking on flat trails and boardwalks
  • Marsh and wetland exploration
  • Observation tower views
  • Brief visit inside the visitor center
  • Optional bird and wildlife spotting

This is a short, casual visit, perfect if you want to get outside without committing to a long hike.

What to Bring:

  • Comfortable walking shoes
  • Weather-appropriate layers
  • Water (especially if it’s warm)
  • Bug spray (recommended for marsh areas)
  • Optional: camera, notebook, or binoculars

Good to Know:

  • Trails are mostly flat and well-maintained
  • This event is weather-dependent
  • No experience or special knowledge needed
  • Just show up curious 😊

Weather Contingency:
If weather conditions don’t cooperate, we’ll pivot to a nearby indoor spot (such as Panera) to grab a drink and enjoy good conversation instead.

Look forward to seeing everyone there!
Ryan D
