*** !! VIRTUAL MEETUP !! ***
YUP! We're going remote! For at least the next two or three months, the .NET user group will be having our meetings remotely. What does this mean for you? New speakers! Starting this month, we'll have speakers from all around that wouldn't normally be in our reach. I've spoken to several people and they have agreed to speak. We just have to work out other logistics.
Very soon, we'll have a WebEx link for you to use this coming Tuesday night. I'll start talking about 6:30p and our guest, Omar Santos, will present soon after.
Keep an eye on this page for upcoming information.
I'm working on setting up a zoom session that will allow for a virtual party after the meeting. I'll have details on that out soon.
As for conferences, Tulsa TechFest has been postponed. This conference like many others are facing hard decisions. Any conference organizer will tell you, organizing rooms, dates, sponsors, marketing, volunteers, etc is a huge deal. So, cancelling or postponing are decisions that do not come lightly. When TTF sets a new date we'll let you know.

Title: Introduction to Attacks Against Modern Applications and Related Countermeasures
Presentation:
In this session, we will discuss common security threats to modern applications and what are countermeasures strategies available. The primary aim of this session is to educate developers, designers, architects and organizations about the consequences of the most common web application security vulnerabilities and methodology to protect against such vulnerabilities.
We will go over many free resources and open source tools that developers and engineers can take advantage to practice and understand different application-based attacks such as parameter tampering, input validation, authentication and authorization bypass, XSS, CSRF, SQL injection, and many others.
