Hike the Hidden Side of Turkey Creek + Post-Hike Bites at Jolie
Details
Explore the Hidden Side of Turkey Creek!
Join us for a scenic and adventurous hike on the other side of the Turkey Creek Sanctuary river—an area many people don’t even know exists! This lesser-traveled trail offers a quieter, more rugged experience with beautiful scrubland scenery and a true “off the beaten path” feel.
⭐ Our last hike had 35 members attend—come see why this group is growing!
⏱️ Estimated hike time: ~90 minutes
⚠️ Important: This hike is more difficult than the main Turkey Creek Sanctuary trails. Expect:
- Exposed roots sticking up along the trail
- Sandy dirt hills with drops and inclines of about 10–15 feet
- Uneven terrain that requires steady footing and balance
If you are not a confident or steady walker, this hike may not be a good fit. That said, for those up for the challenge, the trail is very picturesque and well worth the effort.
Getting There:
Pass the Turkey Creek Sanctuary entrance on Port Malabar Road, then turn right onto Briar Creek Blvd as you head east. Drive about 1 mile and look for the Malabar Scrub sign on the left—that’s where we’ll park. The hike begins across the road.
🥪 Post-Hike Social:
After the hike, we’ll cool down and refuel with a meetup at Jolie’s around 12:30 PM—perfect for food, drinks, and sharing trail stories!
Bring water, sturdy footwear, and your adventurous spirit. Looking forward to another great turnout! 🌿🥾
