Kayak the 1000 Islands Conservation Area

Details

Join us for a leisurely paddle of the (grandiosely-named) Thousand Islands immediately west of Cocoa Beach in the Banana River. Kayaks no longer than 12 feet are advised due to the twists and turns inside the mangrove tunnels. We will also just chill out and have a snack before returning to Ramp Road Park. I like to get out of the boat and stretch while standing in in knee deep water while chillin'.

It is Memorial Day Weekend and it will be busy. Hence the early arrival time. Bring your kayak, PFD, whistle, water and sunscreen. We should launch from the kayak-specific (minimally improved) beach 30 or so yards past the concrete, small boat ramp.
