April Meeting!

Let's keep this going!

Come on out and meet with other creators and writers!

Please feel encouraged to bring short excerpts from your scripts (approx. 4 or 5 pages.)

Also, I'm issuing our first "challenge." -- Since the first page of your script is so critical, I want to encourage you to write an amazing 1st Page. One page that is SO GOOD it makes the reader desperate to read the next. One page that introduces your story in a memorable way.

This is NOT required at all, but it will be fun!

In addition, I'm trying to invite a few actors to each of these meetings so you can have a chance to hear your script read out loud.

I hope you'll bring a short excerpt AND/OR the '1st Page Challenge,' but if you can't do that, still attend!

I'm trying to get to a point where we can also screen short excerpts of produced videos, so to all of you who are directors and producers, hang in there!

Quick note: the Shonda Rhimes MASTERCLASS in Writing for TV has just gone live. I'm going to watch it before the meeting. If anyone else gets to see it, we can discuss it a bit. (masterclass.com) (The Aaron Sorkin Masterclass is about screenwriting in general but he discusses his TV work quite a bit and works with a bunch of grad students to 'break' an episode of the West Wing the way a writers room might. It's very good.)

One last note: I ask for a small donation to help offset the cost of the studio where we'll meet. Chip in what you can; there's no minimum. Or maximum, for that matter :-)
