Do you like scary movies? Let's Build Halloween Projects w/ Dev at Microsoft

Details

TL;DR: Sponsored by Twilio, this is a *free* Halloween-inspired event in the Seattle area where:

  • a Twilio Employee will guide the build of a Halloween-inspired chatbot using low-code tools
  • a guest speaker from Microsoft will go over how to build a spooky AR filter for Snapchat
  • *free food* and the chance to *win prizes* [valued at over $150] are provided

—————
Do you like scary movies? 👀

The host of this event, Twilio Developer Evangelist Anthony Dellavecchia, will be sharing with you using low-code tools to build a chatbot homage to a cult-classic horror movie.

Guest speaker, Microsoft Software Engineer Anh Chu, also enjoys scary movies! She’ll be teaching attendees how to build a spooky AR filter for Snapchat.

Also, food will be provided by Twilio and we’ll be giving out a prize to the Best Costume! If the host and guest speaker are the only ones that dress up…well, looks like one of them will be winning the prize.

At the Microsoft Reactor Redmond (Microsoft Building 20) in Redmond, Washington.
    3709 157th Ave NE, Redmond, WA 98052
  • Who should attend?
This event is open to all coding levels. We’ll be using low-code tools that don’t require prior knowledge, so anyone can follow along!
  • What should I bring?
Your curiosity and willingness to learn
A charged laptop (optional, if you’d like to code along)
  • This is Halloween-themed, are people dressing up?
We hope so! The host and guest speaker will be in costume. We’ll also be giving out a prize to the Best Costume and if no one else dresses up then…I guess we’ll just keep those for ourselves ¯*(ツ)*/¯
  • How do I get to the actual event in the building?
All attendees will need to check in with the Microsoft reception team upon arrival.
  • How terrible is the parking situation?
Minimal! There is *free* onsite parking on the Microsoft campus (but alas we cannot control traffic conditions or the driving/parking behaviors of other drivers). The closest parking lots are near Building 16 and Building 25.
