dbt (Data Build Tool) is a popular transformation tool that is used to cleanse, model, and serve up data to business stakeholders. On the surface, and especially in demos, this exercise appears to be understandable and not very complex. Many of us know from experience, the complexity of transforming data is not trivial and we are grateful for any piece of skill, knowledge or technologys helps us in our development. This is where open source packages can play a critical role in making development easier, more efficient and even give you insight into methods for creating your own customizations.

During this meetup, I will go through some of my favorite packages, provide insight into their benefits, and of course, there will be a demo since PowerPoint is not not as fun as seeing code run.
